About the association
Association "Bulgarian Ultramarathons 2020" is a non-governmental organization created by passionate mountain and running enthusiasts, with a mission to develop outdoor sports, amateur sports and mountaineering culture in Bulgaria. We have been organizing races since 2013, and we have two iconic ultramarathons behind us — Persenk Ultra and Trakia Ultra.
Guided by the motto "From friends to friends", we create experiences with soul – for runners, volunteers and spectators. We believe that sport unites, inspires and builds community.
Our team
Nikolai Marangozov
If the route passes through nine mountains in the tenth – Nikolay probably invented it. He loves long distances, caramel cream and maps with more turns. When he is not marking trails, he dreams of an even more difficult route.
Ivan Dimitrov
If something is moving smoothly – Ivan probably organized it. If something inspires – he already says it on the microphone. He combines precise timing with high-altitude motivation. He is at home in the mountains, but always with a megaphone at hand… just in case.
Daniel Panev
His voice is heard from start to finish, and his humor is sharper than the 30th kilometer bar. Daniel handles registrations with the patience worthy of an Olympic medal. He has three children, doesn't run much (except after them), but happily finishes every race with a beer in hand.
The team behind Thracian Ultra has extensive experience in organizing competitions and sporting events in mountain and urban environments.
